Meet the Race for Riley Personalties

John Andretti

The word “versatile” fits second generation driver John Andretti very well; in fact, Andretti almost redefines the word itself.  A driver since the age of nine, Andretti has been behind the wheel of almost everything with four wheels underneath it, a few with two wheels and a couple with treads and runners.  Starting in sanctioned go-kart racing, Andretti has made his mark in all forms of auto racing - from USAC midgets to 300-plus miles per hour NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters.  In 2009 Andretti will compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series full time. Andretti will also be competing in his 10th Indianapolis 500 driving the Window World Dallara for Richard Petty Motorsports/Dreyer and Reinbold Racing.

He's a life long racing fan, who enhances WIBC's coverage of the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400. He is an Indianapolis native who grew up in the shadow of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Linda Conti

Linda Conti's name many be familiar to Dave " The King " Wilson listeners for her work as a pit reporter for the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 broadcast as well as her former show " Racin Rumors". Linda worked in the racing industry as a mechanic, team manager and safety specialist for Simpson Race Products in Indy Car, NASCAR and Formula 1 in the late 1980's and early 1990's. She put away her tools to return to her post college career of financial consultant. She has been with A.G. Edwards in Indianapolis for the past 9 years and works with many of her former cohorts from the racing world. She is also involved in organizing the Jeff Gordon Foundation Bowling tournament and is an active volunteer for the Christamore House Guild and Junior League of Indianapolis.

Most importantly, Linda is the mother of a Riley miracle baby named Lucca Conti. During her 24th week of pregnancy, it was discovered that Lucca had a heart defect. At the age of 39, Linda became one of Riley Hospital for Children's oldest patients. She was monitored by Riley pediatric cardiologists and given heart medication to help control Lucca's defect. Lucca was delivered by emergency c-section 6 weeks later and weighed in at 3 lbs and 6 ounces. He became a patient of the Riley Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the next two months.
