This year, John’s efforts should reach the One Million Dollar mark in donations.
John will begin his involvement with a visit to the Hospital on Monday, July23rd, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Andretti will visit the children, sign autographs, and hand out goodie bags from Cheerios. He will be joined by 2 of the General Mills cereals characters that are always very popular with the kids.
The Kroger Race for Riley, Presented by Cheerios will take place on Wednesday,
July 25th, from2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the New Castle Motorsports Park. The event is open to the public and everyone attending can enjoy food, radio controlled racing, and participate in a wonderful silent auction.
The action on the track will feature individuals who have made a $50 donation to Riley Hospital for Children and will race in various heats, with the winners having the opportunity to race against John Andretti. Those who have made a sponsor donation of $250 will automatically race against John.
“This is such a great day and I’m excited to have Kroger and Cheerios involved as the event sponsors,” said Andretti. “Riley Hospital for Children holds a special place in my heart and there’s nothing better than seeing people come together for a good cause.”
All Kroger-owned stores in Indiana are participating in an in-store promotion allowing customers to make donations to Riley Hospital. For every $1.00 donation, customers receive $4.00 in coupons good on various General Mills products. The in-store promotion will run through August 14th. The total amount expected to be donated to Riley by Kroger and Cheerios is over $100,000.
